I remembered that nurses seemed to wear them (in white) and as a teacher, I too was on my feet a good portion of the day. I checked prices locally and on the web, and Amazon beat everyone. My Dankso's are heavy and very substantial, and the arch support is more than adequate. The sizing is a bit tricky because they are European. I erred to the larger because I was right in the middle in US size, and they are perfect even with tights or thin knee socks. They have some really fashion-forward styles, but I went with basic black leather for a starter pair.
