Summary: book cover
Date: 2008-12-01 - 1

Comment: I returned this book cover because it was totally inadequate-the kindle just DOES NOT stay attached securely. Unfortunately, they charged me a restocking fee which I feel was unjust since the product did not do what it was supposed to (i.e. hold the kindle securely)

Summary: Happy Kindle Owner

Comment: I bought this replacement cover because I just plain wore out the original. I have looked at the M-Edge & other covers, and they just look like they will make my Kindle more bulky. The cost of the other covers compared to the replacement cover was not the issue. I like the size & weight of the original cover. I added 2 velcro dots on the original, and have done the same thing with the replacement cover as well.(One in the upper left corner & one in the lower right corner & they hold my kindle securely. Additionally, I find that the plastic "catch" tab in the cover does nothing to secure the Kindle to the cover.

Summary: Great idea BUT.....
Date: 2008-11-28 - 2

Comment: The cover is a great idea --- security for the device and planned ease of management of the book when reading. BUT, the little clip inside the cover is not big enough to hold the Kindle in place. It takes the slightest joggling of the device to unseat it from the cover and basically makes it more of a danger than a help. Surely either Kindle can come up with a better notch on the back cover or come up with a more secure fastening into the cover. I LOVE my Kindle. Due to the ability to use large print on the screen, I have read more lately than I have in years. Fix the cover problem and it's a near-perfect device!

Comment: My husband ordered the Kindle for me for my birthday. We didn't realize it came with a book cover. I have now have one Kindle and two book covers.

Summary: What were they thinking?
Date: 2008-11-22 - 2

Comment: I got to put my 2 cents in on this lousy cover. Sure it's well constructed but it' performs so poorly that it is obvious to me that it was and after thought. This cover is a huge disappointment and it has driven me crazy from the first time I tried to use it. It sits slightly crooked when engaged and I feel compelled to try to straighten it out every time I look at it. And I guess they never supposed that you may need to get to the on/off switch or whispernet switch when the device is installed in the cover. Plus, isn't the speaker in the back too...also, covered up. Sure you can slip your finger in there after memorizing which switch is which, but then the puny little locking thingy clicks off and it's free in your hands. So stupid! I've come to the conclusion that the only good use for the cover is for storage when not using the device. I just take the thing out when I want to start reading. Weight? Too heavy at 5.9 oz making the device a full pound when equipped with the cover. The strap is as tight as a rabbit snare practically squishing the little scroll wheel down to its max. I'm afraid it's going to damage it by keeping it depressed all the time. Take my advice Amazon, try again, this cover blows.
