Comment: The light is too white for those who are glare - sensitive; same light as in generic Verilux desk and pole lamps, which works fine when hooded, but does not create same effect as protoypical light box.

Comment: I moved to Seattle a few years ago and the dark and dreary winters were really starting to get to me. I received this light as a Christmas gift and I love it! I use it first thing in the morning when I get to work. I have more energy in the afternoon than I used to and am in a generally better mood.

Comment: Well, I just know that my mood has improved tremendously. I live in Germany and know I get sullen when the winter sets in. This is making a huge difference in my life. I didn't think it would work but it is great. I sit by it every morning for about thirty minutes. I recommend this for anyone who knows that they get down when there isn't enough sun.

Bright light but not harsh. Great way to start the morning. Whether it really works or is just a placebo affect, I feel much less sluggish even after a couple of gloomy weather days if I use this while I eat breakfast.
